Description

A healthy digestive system contains a healthy balance of ‘friendly’ and ‘unfriendly’ bacteria. They are constantly in competition. There is thought to be a link between the variation of bacteria within the gastrointestinal tract and normal brain and psychological function. Probiotic bacteria may positively influence mood through the vagus nerve which links the gastrointestinal tract with the brain. This connection is known as the gut-brain axis. A healthy microbiota produces short-chain fatty acids, such as butyric acid, which directly activates the vagal nerve. Activation of the vagal nerve influences mood by raising the levels of serotonin, norepinephrine, and dopamine.

HealthAid® MoodProbio™ helps to supplement your diet to increase the ‘friendly’ bacteria, support the immune system, assist in the absorption of nutrients within the gut and boost mood, by providing 30 billion special strains of Acidophilus and Bifidobacteria (live microorganisms). MoodProbio™ also contains Fructo-Oligosaccharides (FOS) a prebiotic added to help support the growth of ‘friendly’ bacteria in the gastrointestinal tract.
